The course focuses on the Fitness and Nutrition aspects of Health and Wellness as it pertains to the Athlete while emphasizing the importance of regular exercise and a balanced low fat diet. CrossFit, a strength and conditioning system built on constantly varied, functional movements executed at high intensity will be employed. We have designed our program to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains. They are Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. Students will develop an understanding of their physical, mental, and social health characteristics as they relate to diet and fitness as well as the ability to make informed decisions on how their behavior and actions affect their overall health and athletic performance. |
